Lindsy Binstock

Lindsy R. Binstock, 30, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial for Lindsy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Shannon Lucht celebrating. Burial will take place following Mass in St. Pius Cemetery, Sheffield.


Visitation for Lindsy will be 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 22nd at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:00 p.m.


Lindsy Rose was born October 15, 1986 in Dickinson, the daughter of Allan and Margaret (Kilzer) Binstock. She was born with truncus arteriosis, a rare condition. She underwent her first open heart surgery when she was only 6 weeks old.


Throughout her life, Lindsy endured and persevered through numerous additional surgeries and hospital stays at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, sometimes for months at a time. Her doctors, caregivers, and fellow patients served as her peers, many becoming her family. Lindsy persisted, developing a fighting and adventurous spirit, unwavering in her faith and desire to live life to the fullest.


As the younger sister to three brothers, Lindsy grew up keeping up with her brothers, under their constant protection. She loved reading books with her dad. Her guidepost as a child, and young adult, was her mother. Lindsy grew up quiet in spirit and mighty in love for her family.


Lindsy attended school in South Heart, graduating with the class of 2005. Following graduation, Lindsy worked for Walmart for a couple years. In 2010, she moved to Bismarck to attend Bismarck State College, where she earned her associate degree in Business Administration. After graduation, she began working at the Bismarck Airport, where she worked various positions until 2015. Lindsy also worked for FedEx part time while employed at the airport. Most recently, she worked for Maid to Perfection.


Her true calling and profession was of traveler. She was blessed to travel all over the world: New Zealand, Ireland, France, Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, and many more places U.S. and abroad. She traveled in the company of friends and family, including her dearest friend and roommate, Deszirae. She brought back remarkable stories and memories from her journeys as well as innumerous photos to scrapbook. Lindsy experienced the world through her travels. In her passing, she now travels without earthly boundaries, alongside its Great Creator, to explore and traverse both heaven and earth.


Lindsy is survived by: her grandmother Ethel Binstock; parents, Allan & Margaret (Kilzer) Binstock of Dickinson; brothers, Jon & Becky (Stokes) Binstock of Dickinson and their children, Kaleb and Abby; Mark & Rebecca (Duppong) Binstock of Bismarck and their children, Everly and Isla; Steven & Brook (Wills) Binstock of Bend, OR, and their children, Beckham, Keaton, and Jackson; 35 aunts and uncles; 44 cousins; and constant companion, her dog, Maddy.


She was preceded in death by her grandfather Paul Binstock and grandparents Werner & Edith (Remington) Kilzer.
