Lois Christian

Lois Christian, age 68, passed away February 26, 2009 in Reno, Nevada. In honoring Lois? wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral service and burial will be held in New Salem at a later date. Lois was born March 3, 1940 to Meinhardt and Esther (Tausend) Ziegler. She was raised in Mandan, North Dakota and graduated from Mandan High School. She married Roy Christian on October 2, 1959. They had three daughters, Connie, Lori and Karen. They lived on the family farm until 1971 when they moved into New Salem. Lois worked several jobs in New Salem over the years, including Sunset Inn, Thiele?s Meat Market, T & L Cattle Company, Bennie Scheid Livestock Company and Skip Carlson Cattle Company. She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, watching bull riding and playing cards with the family. Lois is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Connie & Skip Tipton, Reno, NV, Lori & Dave Vernon, Dickinson, ND, and Karen & Jerry Olson, Reno, NV; twelve grandchildren: Vernon (Clarice) Foster & Gerald Foster, Clovis, NM, Travis Foster, Reno, NV, Tia Tipton, Elko, NV, Jake Tipton, Fallon, NV, Christopher, Casey, Lucas & Kaitlin Vernon, Dickinson, ND, Cody, Jaime & Eric Olson, Reno, NV and one great granddaughter, Izabelle Foster, San Antonio, TX; one brother, Burton (Marybeth) Ziegler, Bismarck, ND and one brother-in-law, Larry (Carleen) Christian, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents and her sister.
