Funeral Services for Mary Lois Murphy 82, of Baker, Montana will be at 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Baker Community Church with Lay Pastor Janice Baier officiating, with special music by Alice Kay Schweigert and Melissa Rost. Burial will be in the family lot of the Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker, Montana with Jim Anderson, Patrick Murphy, Dan Murphy, Mike O?Donnell, Dan O?Donnell, and Pat O?Donnell as pallbearers. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. in the Chapel of the Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Lois passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Quality Personal Care in Baker. Lois was born in Baker, Montana on May 23, 1924 a daughter to William and Mary (Golden) Ferguson. She lived on the family homestead eight miles east of Baker until 1940 when the family moved to town. Lois graduated from Baker High School in 1941 and worked for the local MDU Company for several years. She married Patrick J. Murphy in Baker on August 5, 1944. . Lois and Patrick lived most of their life on the family farm east of Baker in the Fertile Prairie Community. Lois loved the ranch life and spent many hours riding and working cattle. Many hours were also spent in her vegetable and flower gardens. She took pride in keeping the area around her house looking as neat and green as possible. In her spare time, Lois could be found reading, sewing or playing cards. In 1960, Lois became the secretary at the Baker High School. She worked there until 1980 when both she and Pat retired and they looked forward to time for travel. Lois lived her entire life in Baker and was involved in many local organization including: 4-H, church, community choir, Baker Cowbells, Historical Society, County Council on Aging and Pink Ladies at the hospital. Her daughter, Kerry Murphy Boisvert of Ithaca, NY; a granddaughter, Renee F. Boisvert of Ithaca, NY and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. Her parents; her husband Pat, three sisters, Roberta Ferguson Brothers, Verna O?Donnell and Eleva Siring and two brothers, Bill Ferguson and Raymond Ferguson, preceded Lois in death.
