A funeral service for Lois Price, 93, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. Friday, January 24th at St. John Lutheran Church in Dickinson with Pastor Cal Oraw officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation for Lois will be 1:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. , Thursday, January 23rd at Stevenson Funeral Home with “Family receiving Friends” from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. Lois passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson, ND. Lois E. Erdahl was born November 27, 1920, the daughter of Andrew and Laura (Ellsworth) Erdahl, at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson, ND. At the age of eight, the family moved to Bismarck, ND where her father worked at the Bank of North Dakota. Lois attended Roosevelt Grade School and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1939. After her father’s death, her mother married Dr. Sam Chernasek and the family moved to Dickinson. Lois attended Dickinson State College for one year and then attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for two years where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. In 1942, Lois traveled by train to California and worked at the Santa Ana Army Air Base as a secretary until October 1945, at which time she returned to Dickinson. In Dickinson, she worked for Roy Swenson, County Superintendent of Schools, in the courthouse until her marriage in 1946. On May 25, 1946 Lois and Llewellyn (LB) Price were united in marriage in the First Congregational Church of Dickinson, ND. Lois and Louie made their home in Dickinson for most of their lives. Lois was always by his side, assisting in his business ventures with Price Funeral Home and the Pro-Shop at Heart River Golf Course. Lois was a charter member of chapters AD; AQ; P. E. O. ; a member of O. E. S. ; Past Matrons Club; DORCAS Society; Scandinavian Ethnic Group; served on the board of Community Concert Association and a member of St. Luke’s Service League. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, knitting afghans, crocheting, ceramics and counted cross stitch. Many family and friends received hand made items made with love from Lois. She was a loving, kind person, always a good friend and will be missed by all. Lois is survived by her husband: Llewellyn, (LB), Dickinson, ND; son: Michael (Laura) Price, Huber Heights, OH; three daughters: Linda (Kent) Yoder, Bristol, IN, Margery (James) Taylor, Bloomington, IN; Susan (Tom) Willer, Dickinson, ND; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; step father, Dr. Sam Chernasek; brother, Robert Erdahl; step brothers, Warren and Dwight Chernasek; and step sister, Lois Chernasek Biehl. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Dorcas Society.
