A Memorial Mass for Lola Thielen, 79, of Plevna, will be Monday, March 28, 2016 at 10:00 a. m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Baker with Father Philip Chinnappan celebrating. Burial will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Plevna. According to Lola’s wishes, cremation will take place. Visitation will be 5:00 p. m to 7:00 p. m. , Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Lola passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Fallon Medical Complex, Baker. She was born December 9, 1936 the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Koenig) Quincer. Lola grew up and attended school in Plevna. She married Matt Thielen on February 15, 1958 at St. Anthony’s Church in Plevna. The love that Matt and Lola shared was one that many dream of. After enduring much heartbreak to have children, their very special son, Sam was born. For many years, Matt and Lola ranched in the area. She also spent twenty years working at the Baker National Bank. Over the years she enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives, cooking and gardening. Lola especially enjoyed the traveling trips and talking on the phone with her sisters. She is survived by her son, Sam (Desiree); three grandchildren, Taylor Bertsch, Hugo Thielen, and Emma Thielen, all of Plevna; three sisters: Betty Rieger, Darline Ketterling, and Delores Schell all of Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Matt in 2014; her parents; a brother, Kenneth; a sister, Carol Herbst; and all of her unborn children resting in the arms of Jesus.
