Lonnie Rath

Lonnie Milo Rath was born a son of Edwin and Emelia (Allerdings) Rath in Baker, MT on January 1, 1948. Lonnie grew up on the family farm south of the Lame Jones community in northern Carter County. Lonnie attended country school and later attending schools in Plevna and Baker, where he graduated from Baker High School. After graduation, Lonnie returned to the farm, eventually farming in the Baker area. Besides farming, Lonnie was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed doing carpentry work. He continued to make Baker his home until entering Holy Rosary Extended Care on December 7, 2008. Lonnie passed away on Friday, December 19, 2008 at Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, MT at the age of 60. Lonnie is survived by his three children, Stephanie (Ryan) Knutsvig, and their children, Cayden and Kannon of Spring Creek, NV, Melissa (Ryan) Brekke, and their son, Davis of Edmore, ND and Ryan (Randi) Rath of Mandan, ND; his sister, Julie (Jacob) Hieb of Ekalaka, MT; his brother, Dennis (Marlene) Rath of Baker, MT; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emelia and Edwin Rath and his brother-in-law, Lyle Woolston. A private family service as held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 with a private interment in the Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker, MT. Arrangements are under the care of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
