Lora Ziegler

A Funeral service for Lora Ziegler, 92, of Hebron, will be 11:00 a. m. CST, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at St. John Church in Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. The burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation for Lora will be 1:00 p. m. to 2:00 p. m. CST, Monday, January 20th at Marian Manor in Glen Ullin, followed by visitation from 4:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. CST at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Hebron. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service. Lora passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin, ND. Lora Katherine Ziegler was born April 2, 1921 to Frederich and Sophie (Maas) Ziegler. Her mother passed away when Lora was 7 years old, leaving her father to raise her and her 9 siblings. She was raised on the family farm 3 l/2 miles SE of Hebron and moved into Hebron in l954 when her father retired from farming. Lora was a lifetime member of St. John Church and held the position of treasurer for 20 years. Lora worked for 21 years at Urban's Inc. Following the closing of that store, she moved to New Salem and was employed there for a time. She retained her home in Hebron and later retired there. Upon selling her home in 2007, Lora moved to Hawks Pointin Dickinson and in October 2008 became a resident of Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin. Lora is survived by three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Henry Ziegler (Evelyn), Bismarck, Mrs. Rudy Ziegler (Evelyn), Ellicott City, MD, and Mrs. Victor Ziegler (Marjorie), Kansas. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews. Lora was preceded in death by her parents, Frederich and Sophie; brothers, Albert, Henry, Paul, Emanuel, Carl, Arnold, Rudy, Victor; and sister, Clara Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Church, 624 Church Ave. , Hebron, ND 58638.
