Loretta Schmidt, 94, of the Richardton Health Care Center, formerly of Hebron, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at the Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am central time on Monday, December 31, 2007 at St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Hebron, ND. Visitation will begin on Sunday after 4:00 pm at the church with Vigil services at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in the St. Ann Cemetery in Hebron. Loretta was born May 17, 1913, in Glen Ullin, the daughter of Nick and Mary (Tavis) Gauer. She was raised and educated in Glen Ullin. She worked as a waitress and later for the Mormann?s on the ranch. Loretta married Frank Schmidt on June 28, 1937 at Sacred Heart in Glen Ullin. They farmed with his parents until they bought their own farm in 1941 which they operated until 1994 when they retired. Loretta loved riding horse in her younger years she also enjoyed playing cards and games, visiting, and her grandchildren. Following retirement they moved into Hebron. Loretta was a member of the St. Ann?s Christian Mothers. Frank died October 8, 2000. Loretta continued to reside in Hebron until entering the Richardton Health Center. Those remaining to share the legacy of her love include her daughter Janet (Delbert) Hellman, of Williston, ND; her sons: Walter, Hebron; Clifford (Joyce), Hebron; and Jerry (Roberta), of Bismarck; 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters: Regina Bingert and Frances Mormann, both of Bismarck; and Leanor Erling, Jamestown, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters: Margaret and Honey; two brothers: Louis and Walter and a great grandson, Tyler SchmidtOffciating: Father Joseph Arul, MSFXMusic by: Gerald and Debbie SebastianCasket Bearers: Darcy, Jamie, and Darvin Schmidt, Todd Schmidt, Brad Schmidt, Jason and Jordan Hellman, and Andy Schmidt.
