She was baptized and confirmed at Faith United Methodist Church in Williston. First and for most, Loretta loved the Lord. She graduated from Williston High School in 1979, then attended Dickinson State College, graduating with a BA in Social Work. Throughout her whole life, Loretta loved taking care of other people and animals. Starting in high school, she worked as a volunteer candy striper at the Bethel Home and Mercy hospital in Williston. She moved to Dickinson with a friend shortly after graduating high school. After living in Dickinson, she had her only child, her son Daniel. He was always the pride & joy of her life. She taught him the importance of the faith early, attending River of Life Church on a regular basis. While in Dickinson she worked for Able then St. Joseph’s and up until she moved, St Benedicts Nursing Home. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved to cook for her friends and family. Loretta was a cancer survivor for 25 years and was thankful for her good health every day. In 2011, Loretta married Tim Teigland of Shevlin, MN. Shortly after moving to Shevlin, Loretta found out the nursing home was shorthanded and once again she went to help. She loved caring for elderly people. She would tell stories of how much she loved her job, meeting and helping the families of her clients. She loved raising a big garden and canning. Loretta touched more lives than we will ever know, she was a prayer warrior. Whenever anyone needed a prayer, she was on it with her whole heart, never giving up or in.
