Funeral services for Lorraine Stang, 93, of New England, ND will be 1 p. m. , Tuesday January 6, 2009 at Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church in New England, ND with Pastor Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Dickinson CemeteryVisitation will be 3 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson and will continue from 9 a. m. – 9 p. m. , Monday, January 5, 2009 with a prayer service at 7 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral home. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 8 a. m. – 10 a. m. at the Stevenson Funeral HomeLorraine passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson, ND. Lorraine Hoffer was born March 21, 1915 on the family farm in rural Hettinger, County, the daughter of Christ & Elizabeth (Brandner) Hoffer. She grew up and attended the Wagendorf Township Country School through the 8th grade. Lorraine was married to Leonard Stang on December 22, 1939 in Regent, ND. Together they made their home and raised their family on a farm in rural Regent. She enjoyed yard work, bowling, gardening, bingo, playing cards, crocheting, baking cookies and especially enjoyed going on walks with her grandchildren. After Leonard?s death in 1959 she dedicated her life to her children and her beloved grandchildren. In later years her great-grandchildren brought her great joy. Lorraine was a member of Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church of New England and the New England Senior Citizens Center. Lorraine left the farm and moved into New England in 1967 where she lived until June of 2008 and due to failing health she made her home at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Survivors include, two sons, Larry (Ruth) Stang, Dickinson, ND and Dennis (LaVonne) Stang, New England, ND; two daughters, Donna Rustan-Stang (Lewellyn), New England, ND and Diana (Hugo) Hanson, New England, ND; a brother, Elmer (Alma) Hoffer, Regent, ND; a sister, Edna Nester, Dickinson, ND; three sister-in-laws: Viola Nester, New England, ND, Janice Pachl, St. Paul, MN and Lois Hoffer, Mott, ND; eleven grandchildren: Jamie (Dave) Stang-Kusner and their child, Tristan, Shannay (Keith) Witte and their children, Alex & Stephanie, Jonathan (Robin) Stang and their children, Mason, Carter and step-children, Aaron & Brittney, Amy Hillman and her son Justin, Jennifer Hanson, Tara (Scott) Bieber and their child, Grace, Leah Rustan, Brittany (Jason) Steiner and their child, Xander and Taylor Stang. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard, a son, Leon, three brothers, Rueben, Reinhold and Robert Hoffer and a sister, Esther Kunze
