Lou Quast

Lou J. Quast, 75, of Wibaux, formerly of Beach, ND passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Wibaux County Nursing Home in Wibaux, MT. Lou Joane Quast was born May 27, 1939 at Forbes, ND, daughter of Emil and Leone (Tachenko). She grew up and attended schools near Ellendale and Harvey as well as Maplewood Academy in Minnesota. Soon after high school graduation she married Lauren Wojahn at Beach, ND. To this union her two children were born: Kirk and Sheryl. They later divorced. Together with her children, she spent time living in California, Colorado, and Washington state over the years. While in Washington, she was employed with the Boeing Company. In 1991, she returned back to North Dakota to reside in Beach. Lou worked extensively in media advertising and eventually worked at Home On the Range until her retirement in 2004. In 2007, she moved into the Wibaux County Nursing Home where she would make her final home. She enjoyed many things in life such as reading, watching television, puzzles of all kinds-especially crosswords, and caring for animals. Lou will be remembered for her sense of humor and talents of playing piano and drawing. Her life represented the “Heart of a Warrior, Soul of a Gypsy”. Lou is survived by her children, Kirk Wojahn of Gladstone, ND and Sheryl Jones of Beach; five grandchildren, Nicole, Kelli, Kayla, & Max Wojahn of Dickinson, ND and Mathew Jones of Longmont, CO; six great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Quast of Edinburg, Texas; sisters: Bonnie Underwood and Sally Abernethy both of Beach, ND, and Barbara (Don) Austin of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents. At her request, cremation will take place. No services will are planned at this time.
