LouAnn Nordsven

Funeral services for LouAnn Nordsven, 88, of Killdeer will be 10:00 a. m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer, ND with Pastor Ellery Dykeman officiating. Burial will follow in Werner Cemetery. Visitation for LouAnn will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer. LouAnn passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson, ND. LouAnn was born June 21, 1927 to Peter and Lydia (Rohde) Madson. She was raised on a farm south of Werner, ND where she lived until she married Elmer J Nordsven on Oct. 8, 1947. They continued to live on a farm south of Werner, where they raised five children; Elaine, Elmer Jr. , Loraine, Randy and Greg. They moved to Killdeer in 1955, where they owned and operated the Killdeer Hotel. In 1961 they moved to Halliday. LouAnn loved gardening and crocheting and made many towels, doilies, and quilts which she shared with family members. She was an excellent cook and was known for her great chokecherry syrup. LouAnn loved listening to polka and waltz music. She especially loved visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. LouAnn will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. LouAnn is survived by her husband, Elmer of 68 years; children, Elaine Fettig of Killdeer, ND, Elmer Jr. (Paulette) Nordsven of Watford City, ND, Randy (Mary) Nordsven of Dickinson, ND, Greg (Kathy) Nordsven of Killdeer, ND; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Lydia; daughter, Loraine Zarr; granddaughter, Christie Zarr; and sister, Lucilla.
