A funeral Mass for Louie “Nick” Hendricks, 77, of Dickinson, will be 9:00 a. m. , Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation for Louie will be 5:00 p. m. -7:00 p. m. , Thursday, May 19th at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Louie passed away at his home on Monday, May 16, 2016. Louie was born May 18, 1938 in Dunn County, the son of George and Barbara (Armbrust) Hendricks. Growing up, he attended country schools in Willman School District near Dickinson. On September 12, 1957, Louie married Luella Schwindt at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Carla and Brenda, and two sons, Rodney and Russell. The family farmed and ranched in the Killdeer area. Louie was a school bus driver, a Dunn County snow plow driver, and a heavy equipment operator and owner of Hendricks Construction. After Louie retired from the farm, he worked for Baranko Bros. and Fisher Industries when they needed an extra operator. He had a fond love for running heavy equipment. Louie was a member of the Eagles Club. He took time to enjoy camping, traveling, snowmobiling and word search puzzles. Louie was a great story teller and he especially enjoyed spending time and playing cards with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed. Louie is survived by his wife, Luella; sons, Rodney (Peggy) of Killdeer, Russell (Lisa) of Bismarck; daughters, Carla (Jim) Hlebechuk of Killdeer, Brenda (Pat) Schmitz of West Fargo; 10 grandchildren, Sheldon (Britney) Hendricks, Stephanie (Kiel) Richardson, Shannon (fiancée Brittany Kessel) Hendricks, Sheri (Michael) Landenberger, Chelsey (Dillon) Burr, Brian Hlebechuk, Cole Hendricks, Megan Hendricks, Holli Schmitz and Jordan Schmitz; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene (Ed) Volesky of Dickinson, Marge (Tony) Aman of Gladstone, Shirley Wamre of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; and brother, Don Hendricks. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Barbara Hendricks; sister, Rose Redmond.
