Louis Buresh

Louis Buresh, age 105, of the Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin and formerly of Dickinson, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin on Tuesday April 18, at 10:00 a. m. Central Time with the Rev. Chad Wilhelm as Celebrant assisted by Deacons Gary Quintus and Leonard Buresh. Visitation will begin on Monday after 5 PM at the church with the vigil services starting at 7:00 p. m. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Dickinson. Louis was born October 1, 1900 in Crimea, Russia the son of John and Mary (Karsky) Buresh. When he was two, the family moved to the United States and settled on a farm northwest of New Hradec where he was raised. He married Agnes Jirges on November 22, 1922 at New Hradec. Following marriage he farmed and did carpentry work until 1946 when they moved to Dickinson. He worked for the Bon Ton / Baker Boy Bakery for 18 years. In his later years he enjoyed making rugs, gardening and visiting. In 1994 he moved to Glen Ullin to be closer to family. Those most grateful for having shared his long life are his daughters: Veronica (Norbert) Quintus, Bismarck, ND; Bernice (Clarence) Wilhelm, Glen Ullin, ND; and Sister Emma Buresh, SSND, of Mankato, MN; his sons: Leonard (Ann) Buresh, Grafton, ND; and David (Geri) Buresh, Litchfield, MN. Louis was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Father Vitus Buresh, OSB, one great grandchild, four brothers and two sisters.
