Louis Iverson

Private Family Funeral Service for Louis Iverson Jr. , 74, of Dickinson, ND formerly of Tioga, Belfield and Bowman, ND will be at 2 p. m. , Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, south of Tioga, ND with Pastor Sandra L. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Louis passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Louis Iverson was born March 12, 1935 in Ray, ND to Louis E. and Dorothy (Stenberg) Iverson. He grew up and attended country school in the Ray and Tioga area. Louis spent most of his younger years working on the family farm as well as his grandparent?s farm. He began working construction, which took him all over North Dakota. Louis and Ilene Cole were married on April 3, 1957. To this union six children were born. In 1964 they moved to Bowman, ND where Louis worked and later purchased the Skelly Truck Stop and operated it until 1980. After the death of Ilene, he sold the Truck Stop and continued to make Bowman his home. In 1995 Louis moved to Tioga, ND where he semi-retired and made his home. Louis enjoyed working with his brothers and nephews on the old family farm. He was an avid woodworker, which he built many clocks and horse drawn wagons and equipment. He enjoyed his family, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Dwight (Shem) Iverson, Rhame, ND; daughters, Louella (Will) Holman, WA, Rose Iverson, Billings, MT. Geraldine (Sean) Hyland, Mesa, AZ, Sharon Dube, Dickinson, ND; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Hazel) Iverson, Tioga, ND, Raymond Iverson, Stanley, ND, Ronnie (Rena) Iverson, White Earth, ND; sister, Donna (Gary) Larson, Tioga, ND. Louis is preceded in death by his wife, Ilene, daughter, Gwendolyn Iverson; brother, Richard Iverson; sister-in-law, DeAnne Iverson.
