Louise Lang

A Funeral Service for Louise Lang, 91, of Baker, MT, will be 11:00 a. m. , Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Baker with Pastor Levi Durfey officiating. Burial will follow in Bonnievale Cemetery. Visitation for Louise will be 4:00 p. m. – 6:00 p. m. , Tuesday, April 16th at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Prayer Service being held at 7:00 p. m. Louise passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, MT. Louise Lang was born May 25th, 1921 to Frederick and Magdalena (Opp) Burkle. Louise grew up and attended school in Plevna. After school she continued to work on the family farm. She then worked at The Red Owl Inn and Baker Meat Market. On February 3, 1945 she married Ernest Lang at the First Baptist Church in Plevna. The couple lived on the family farm north of Plevna before they purchased a farm north east of Baker in 1954. They farmed and ranched while raising their two children. Over the years Louise worked various cleaning jobs throughout the community such as Montana Motel, Continental, and various homes. Louise and Ernie retired to a house in town in 1980. In later years, Ernie and Louise moved in with their daughter Marilyn. Louise loved gardening, planting flowers, and crocheting blankets. She was involved in the First Baptist Church singing choir and taught Sunday School. Louise is survived by her husband Ernest Lang, Baker, MT; her children, Kenneth (Beth) Lang of Roseberg, OR; Marilyn Gawryluk, Baker, MT; her grandchildren, Michelle (Larry) Herman, Ernie (Victoria) Gawryluk, Dawn (Pete) Stewart, David Lang & Rebekah Lang; her great grandchildren Larry and Cheye Herman; her sister Erna Losing. She was preceded in death by her by her parents Frederick and Magdalena (Opp) Burkle; brother Edward Burkle; sisters Alma Dukart, Emma Losing and two infant brothers and one infant sister. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Baker.
