Lowell Fenn Pelton was born November 25, 1949, to Gene and Florence (McQuay) Pelton in Dickinson, ND. He grew up and attended Versippi School through the eighth grade. He then attended Dickinson High School where he graduated in 1967. He attended Colorado State University where he studied arboriculture. In 1969, Lowell married Bonnie (Dobler) Culver, and together they had a daughter Tiffany Pelton. Shortly after they separated; Lowell traveled to California, but soon settled back in Dickinson with his daughter Tiffany. In 1973, Lowell made a life changing decision to study the Bible. He was so impressed to learn that God has a personal name (Ps 83:18) and that He has promised a better future for all, a beautiful paradise where we can live with our family and friends in true peace and security. (Ps 37:10,11,29) In December 1973, he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. On February 2, 1974, Lowell married Kathleen York in Dickinson. Together they raised Tiffany and their six children, Micah, Samuel, Javan, Lowie Jr. , Anakalia, and Bettina. Lowell began Pelton Tree Service and Landscaping in 1973 and operated it until the time of his death. Lowell shared his love of caring for trees and yards to his sons who have begun their own tree service companies around the country. Throughout his life, Lowell loved traveling, hard work and meeting new people. No one was a stranger to him. From his friends in Spain to his friends in Dickinson, he left his print wherever he stepped. He loved to joke around and tease people, and always ended the teasing with a laugh. You couldn’t help but smile when Lowell was around. He loved to bake bread in the cold winters, along with his mysterious stews and soups. One always wondered what they were eating, because he never exactly specified the ingredients. But it was always good. It was very important to Lowell to teach his children good work ethics, and he worked every day up until the day he died. Our wish is that everyone remember a ?Lowell story? and share it with someone, because that is exactly what he would have done. Remember him first for the love of his life, Kathy, who survives him along with his children, Micah, Sam, Javan, Lowie, Tiffany, Ana, and Bettina. He was blessed to have eight beautiful grandchildren that he couldn’t love or talk about enough. Skylar, Madison, Staunzi, Kaden, Tristan, Jaymin, Alexander, and ?Coco? will miss their ?Bak Bak? (Grandpa). Lowell is survived by his father, Gene Pelton; wife, Kathleen; children, Micah Pelton, Seattle, WA, Samuel (Jennifer) Pelton, Seattle, WA, Javan (Meghan) Pelton, Boston, MA, Tiffany (Mike) Berry, Denver, CO, Anakalia Bess Pelton, Watford City, ND, and Bettina Margit Pelton, Billings, MT; three brothers, Raymond (Mary Helen) Pelton, Deer River, MN, Roger (Arlene) Pelton, McKinney, TX, and Kent (Jolynn) Pelton, Watford City, ND; two sisters, Jeri Senger, Kent, WA, and Ginger (Keith) Trzynka, Grand Forks, ND; and eight grandchildren, Skylar, Madison, Staunzi, Kaden, Tristan, Jaymin, Alexander and Corina. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence (McQuay) Pelton, and son, Lowell ?Lowie? Daniel Pelton.
