Lucylle Olson

A Memorial Service for Lucylle H. Olson, 93, of Killdeer, will be 2:00 p. m. , CDT, Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home Willow Creek Chapel in Wahpeton, ND. A Time of Sharing will be 7:00 p. m. , Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer, ND. Lucylle died Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer. In following Lucylle?s wishes, cremation has taken place. Lucylle H. Gast was born September 18, 1917, in rural Wahpeton, the daughter of Herman and Martha (Stoltenow) Gast. She attended rural schools and worked at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center. A job she truly loved. Lucylle spent her life living in Wahpeton, ND, Santa Barbara, CA, Halliday, ND, and Dickinson, ND before entering Hill Top Home of Comfort in October of 2004 at Killdeer, ND. Lucylle was united in marriage to Wallace D. Olson on September 23, 1936, at Wahpeton. They made their home in Wahpeton where they raised their four children: Sheila, Fred, Bonnie and Gail. Lucylle enjoyed doing handwork, embroidery, counted cross-stitch and crafts. She looked forward to playing cards on Saturday with her Dickinson girlfriends. Lucylle is survived by two of her children, Fred (Linda) of Colman, SD and Gail (Allan) Lynch of Dunn Center, ND; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, Cindy (Dan) Cattaneo and their children: Kaila, Katie & Mia of Santa Barbara, CA, Tami (Shaun) Haskins and their children: Micaela, Lindsay & Maddy of Kuno, ID, Scott (Cherri) Lynch of Dunn Center, ND, Mike (Jan) Lynch and their children: Brienna, Macy & Kade of Bismarck, ND and Jodi (Pete) Hoff and their children: Randy & Reed of Lino Lake, MN and two sons-in-law, Mark Tehle of Hugo, MN and Bob Montgomery of Santa Barbara, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wallace, 12/23/1969; two daughters, Sheila Tehle 1/8/1996, Bonnie Montgomery 9/29/1998; grandson Brian Lynch 8/3/1973; ten sisters and brothers, Ella Matt, Walter Gast, Herman Gast, Richard Gast, Edward Gast, Herbert Gast, Leonard Gast, Myra Jensen, Helen Leland and Leona Ward. Maybe you knew her as Mom, Grandma O, Aunt Cyl or friend. Regardless of how you knew her, we all laughed and loved her with all of our hearts. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Lucylle?s name.
