Funeral Mass for Ludmilla Kuhn, 97, of Dickinson, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. , Saturday, July 30, 2011 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, ND with Father Todd Kreitinger, celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Patrick?s Cemetery, Dickinson, ND. Visitation for Ludmilla will be from 12:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m. , Friday, July 29, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church from 5:00 p. m. until 7:00 p. m. , with a rosary and vigil service at 6:00 p. m. Ludmilla passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Center in Mott, ND. Ludmilla Schmidt was born June 26, 1914, in Morton County, the daughter of Adam and Bertha Schmidt. She grew up and attended country school near her home. She returned home to help with her siblings of which she was one of 16. On September 26, 1933, Ludmilla was united in marriage to Peter V. Kuhn in Fallon, ND. Together, they raised their family of five children, Valeria, Edna, Alvin, Dennis, and Clarice. As a young family, they moved to Mandan where they resided until 1950 when they moved to Dickinson. Ludmilla worked as a bookkeeper for the Kuhn Standard Service Station. She was an avid Scrabble player, always beating her college educated children. Ludmilla enjoyed completing crossword puzzles as well. Ludmilla made many quilts and enjoyed crocheting. Ludmilla was blessed to have lived and stayed in her own home until the age of 94 when she made her home at the Good Samaritan Care Center. She was loved and cherished by her children and grandchildren. Ludmilla is survived by her two sons, Alvin (Marylyn) Kuhn of Eagle River, WI and Dennis (Judy) Kuhn of Germantown, WI; two daughters, Edna (Pete) Petersen of Dickinson, and Clarice Andrus of Regent; one son-in-law, Joe Wax of Minot; two sisters, Fran (Ray) Roberts of Renton, WA and Trudy Gamache of Yakama, WA; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Bertha Schmidt; her husband, Peter Kuhn; one daughter, Valeria Wax; five brothers, Tom, Pete, Henry, Albert and Paul; and eight sisters, Eva, Anna, Florentine, Betty, Magdalen, Veronica, Minnie, and Viola. Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
