Ludwina Kottre

Ludwina Kottre, age 85 of Glen Ullin died Friday, August 11, 2006 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Central Time on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin. Visitation will begin at 4:00PM on Monday at the church with the Vigil service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Glen Ullin. Ludwina was born July 13, 1921 in the Haymarsh area, the daughter of William and Philomena (Wehri) Mormann. She was raised and educated at Glen Ullin. She worked in Bismarck for a while then returned to the Glen Ullin area to work on the Matt and Frances Duppong farm. She married John Kottre, July 13, 1960 at Glen Ullin. She worked in the Richter Coal Mines as a scale operator for several years. In 1973 they moved to New Salem where she worked for the grocery store and the motel. In 1987 they retired and moved back to Glen Ullin. Ludwina entered the Marian Manor Health Care Center in October of 2002 where she has resided since. She is survived by two daughters: Jean Haase, Bismarck, ND; Judy Kottre, Wilton, ND; and two step children: Robert Kottre, Beulah, ND and Shirley Duppong, of Glen Ullin. She has nine grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1989, six brothers: Frank, Tony, Richard, Al, Andy and Slim; and four sisters: Hilda, Henrietta, Frances, and Millie.
