Luella Riedl

Funeral Mass for Luella Riedl, 87, of Dickinson will be 9:00 a. m. , Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will be at 3:00 p. m. CDT, Tuesday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.


Visitation for Luella will be from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , Monday, July 15, 2013 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 7:00 p. m.


Luella passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.


Luella R. Rosenberg was born March 29, 1926 in Halliday, ND, the daughter of Louis H. and Florence (McMullen) Rosenberg. She attended school in Halliday through 10th grade and finished her last two years at Dickinson Central High School, graduating in 1944. In 1945, she began working for NW Bell as a telephone operator and retired in 1969. On April 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Louis P. Riedl at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home in Dickinson where they raised six children. Luella was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed camping and picnicking with her young family. After retirement, Luella traveled with her husband to Arizona during the winter. She resided at Hawks Point and most recently at St. Benedict’s Health Center. Luella loved to garden and grew beautiful roses.


Luella is survived by her husband, Louis of Dickinson; five sons, Donald of Sparks, NV, Kenneth (Diane) of Belgrade, MT, Lynn of Dickinson, Wayne of Dickinson, and Lorin (Bette) of Mora, MN; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one daughter; two infant children; her parents; one brother; and one sister.
