Lydia Morehouse

A Funeral Service for Lydia Morehouse, 86, of Glen Ullin, will be 10:00 a. m. CDT, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Marian Manor Healthcare Chapel in Glen Ullin. Burial will take place in the Glen Ullin Cemetery.


Visitation for Lydia will be 9:00 a. m. – 10:00 a. m. , CDT, Tuesday, April 16th, prior to the service in the Chapel.


Lydia passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Marian Manor Healthcare Center, Glen Ullin.


Lydia Scheck was born August 19, 1926 in Blue Grass, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Rose (Voegele) Scheck. She was the third oldest of eight siblings. Lydia grew up on the family farm and graduated from Glen Ullin High School. She went on to attend Dickinson State Teachers College and later taught school in the Glen Ullin area. On May 28, 1961, Lydia was united in marriage to George Morehouse. The couple then settled in Billings, MT where George worked in a sugar beet factory. Lydia kept busy working as a housekeeper. She loved embroidery, crocheting, word find puzzle books, bingo and checkers. She also enjoyed western music, being outdoors, animals, movies, reading and watching tv. In the past she enjoyed gardening, baking and dancing. Lydia lived in Billings, MT before moving to Marian Manor Healthcare in 2007, to be closer to her family.


Lydia is survived by her sister, Rose Nagel of Glen Ullin; sister-in-law, Marian Scheck of Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Rose; husband, George; brothers, Andy and Ernest Scheck; sisters, Helen Winckler and Erma Wetzel; and two siblings in infancy.
