Lyle Douglas McHenry was born March 22, 1917, in Lone Pine, Mont. to Robert and Ruth (Andrews) McHenry. He married Izene Cook on December 26, 1963, in Idaho. Izene died on March 18, 2004. Lyle drove logging truck until his wrappers broke and the load fell on his back, breaking it. After he healed, he ranched, drove cattle truck, hauling cattle all over, broke horses and drove heavy equipment. Lyle later returned to ranching. He lived every summer for years in ?Cow Camp? and took care of his cattle and the cattle of five other ranches. Lyle loved to ride, rope, brand and anything outdoors with cattle. He was an avid hunter and hunted birds, bear, elk and deer. Lyle enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzle, driving (especially his new bright red truck), attending his high school reunions, visiting with family and friends and telling stories. He broke horses, cut hair in a nursing home, bartended, and operated heavy equipment. Lyle was a member the Cattlemen?s Association. Lyle is survived by: two daughters, Barbara (Larry) Ailport, Anaconda, Mont. and Betty Norman, Kalispell, Mont. ; one son, Lyle Jr. (Susan) McHenry, Kalispell, MT; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Clare Mae Bauer, Kalispell, Mont. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Izene on March 18, 2004; parents; daughter, Carol JoAnn Caldwell; two grandsons, Randy and one in infancy; and one brother, Melvin.
