Funeral Services for Maggie Muckle, 102 of Beach are 2:00 p. m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at the United Community Church in Beach with Rev. Warren Maxted officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot of the Sentinel Butte Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday, March 26, 2005 from 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at the United Community Church in Beach, continuing on Sunday from 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. Monday Visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. to one hour prior to service at the Church. Maggie passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005 at the Wibaux County Nursing Home in Wibaux. Maggie was born May 24, 1902 in Kircubbin County Down in Northern Ireland, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Brown) Allen. She had two brothers and four sisters. Maggie grew up and received her education in Ireland. On March 10, 1926 she was married to Sam Muckle in the Presbyterian Church of Kircubbin County Down in Northern Ireland. In April of 1926 they arrived at Sentinel Butte, North Dakota where they made their home, farmed and raised their two children, James and Marion. Sam and Maggie lived on the farm until 1955 when they retired and moved into Beach. Their son, Jim took over the farm at that time. Sam & Maggie made a trip back to Ireland in the fall of 1954, returning in April of 1955. Maggie made two other trips back to her home land; one in late summer of 1965 and again in the fall of 1981. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and was an active member of the Congregational Church in Sentinel Butte. She later became active in the United Community Church in Beach. Throughout her 102 years, Maggie worked hard, enjoyed good health, and shared the love of her family. They celebrated many very special birthdays in her honor, especially her 100th birthday. Survivors include a son, James (Mae) Muckle, Sr. of Beach; a daughter, Marion (Holger) Johnson of Sentinel Butte; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; seven step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam; two brothers: James and Brownie Allen; four sisters: Emily, Bertha, Marion and Hannah and two great-grandsons, Samuel and Conner.
