Funeral mass for Mansvetus ?Mans? Steffan, 86, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in New Hradec. Visitation will be 11:00 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. , Friday, May 7, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson, continuing from 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. Mans passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Mansvetus R. Steffan was born on December 7, 1923, to Vincent and Paulina (Hibl) Steffan on the family farm in Dunn County. He attended country school and New Hradec Parochial. He continued to help on the family farm. Mans married Hattie Tuhy on July 3, 1944, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec. The couple returned to the family farm for a short time before purchasing their own farm. It was here where they made their home and raised their family of eight children. In 1971, health reasons forced Mans to retire from the farm; he partnered with his brother Sylvin and established Steffan Saw & Bike in Dickinson. Mans retired in 1981, enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends, continuing his services with the Knights of Columbus in Montana and was a jack of all trades. Mans entered St. Luke?s Home in 2005. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Workmen, St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Mans always enjoyed farming and ranching. He greatly enjoyed time with family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mans is survived by his wife, Hattie; his seven children, Judy (Chuck) Anderson, Gordon Steffan, LaVonne Bullinger, Galen (Mavis) Steffan, Joan (Dave) Kudrna, Neal (Rhonda) Steffan, and Nancy (John) Stockert; two brothers, Stanley (Marlene) Steffan and Jim (Margaret) Steffan; a sister, Dagmar (Robert) Murphy; two sisters-in-law, Georgian Steffan and Maryann Steffan; a brother-in-law, Tim O?Connor; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Leon; a son-in-law, Larry Bullinger; two brothers, Sylvin and Vince; four brothers-in-law, Andy Novotny, Albert Tuhy
