Funeral Mass for Marcella Martin, 79, of Dickinson, ND will be at 11 a. m. , Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, ND with Father Keith Streifel celebrating and Deacon Al Schwindt assisting. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Richardton, ND. Visitation will be from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Friday, July 17, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7 p. m. , with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding. Marcella passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at St. Benedicts Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Marcella Regina Ganje was born January 22, 1930 in Harvey, ND to Henry and Ludwina (Heilman) Ganje. She grew up and attended school in Harvey and graduated from Harvey High School in 1949. She worked at the Harvey hospital as a nurse?s aide. Marcella and Morris Martin were married on November 25, 1950 in Harvey. Marcella continued to work at the hospital until Morris returned from the service in 1952. To this union six children were born, Steve, Jan, Nancy, Mary, Theresa and Tom. Due to Morris?s career, they lived in numerous locations throughout ND. Since 1960 they have called southwestern ND their home. Marcella developed many friends throughout the state of ND. Dickinson has been their home since 1999. Marcella?s co- ministry was very evident throughout Morris?s Diaconate ministry for the last 28 years. She enjoyed coffee and conservation and made many friends. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and family gatherings. She was a very faithful and active mother for her children over the years. Marcella has been very involved with the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters, as well as many other church functions throughout her life. Marcella is survived by her husband, Morris Martin, Dickinson, ND; sons, Steve (Jan) Martin, Powell, WY, Tom (Dana) Martin, Hammond, WI; daughters, Jan (Randy) Jost Dickinson, ND, Nancy (Cal) Gustafson, Dickinson, ND, Mary (Ron) Cascaes, Chandler, AZ. and Theresa (Randy) Hauck, Velva, ND. ; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Leonard (Mavis) Ganje, Fargo, ND; sisters, Marie Feldman, Bismarck, ND, Angeline (John) Yelich, Brooklyn Center, MN, Leona (Wesley) Feickert, Martin, ND. She is preceded in death by both parents; an infant grandson, Isaac Martin; brothers, Ed, Pius and Carl Ganje; sister, Monica Barnett.
