Funeral Mass for Margaret Gustafson, 93, of Dickinson will be 9:30 a. m. , Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Shannon Lucht celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation for Margaret will be from 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Margaret passed away Friday, June 06, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Margaret E. Badinger was born April 13, 1921 in Dickinson, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Mathilda (Boespflug) Badinger. She was raised and educated east of Dickinson, graduating from Versippi High School. On July 24, 1944, she married Carl Gustafson in Dickinson. The couple farmed six miles east of Dickinson until 1959 when they built a home in Dickinson. Margaret worked as an office supervisor for J. C. Penney for 24 years before retiring in 1986. Margaret enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with her family; especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would also volunteer at various organizations in Dickinson. Margaret was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include a daughter Carla (Byron) Kubik of Dickinson; three sons, Gary (Kim) of Carol Stream IL, Kurt (Bertie), and Calvin (Nancy) both of Dickinson; 10 grandchildren, Kyle Gustafson, Tyler Gustafson, Spencer Gustafson, Sarah Selle, Shaneille Ulmer, Heather Torgerson, Hollee Clement, Ben Kubik, Kari Sayler and Brittany Holten; 10 great-grandchildren, Briena Gustafson, Braxton, Chase & Aly Selle, Seth, Lydia & Asher Torgerson, Marlee & Elyse Clement, and Hadley Sayler; one sister Agnes (Vince) Kadrmas of Dickinson and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1969, daughter, Pamela in 2013; her parents, John and Mathilda Badinger; one sister, Tillie; two brothers, William and Joe; four step-sisters, Pauline, Kathryn, Rose and Geneive; and one step-brother, John.
