Margaret Klick, 95, died October 26, 2013, at Marian Manor Nursing Home in Glen Ullin, ND.


Visitation will be 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. CDT, Sunday, November 3rd at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home, 202 Maple Street South, Hebron, ND. Visitation will continue on Monday one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.


The funeral service will be at 10:30 a. m. , CDT, Monday, November 4, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ, 624 Church Avenue, Hebron, ND, with the Rev. Gaylund Olson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to share memories of Margaret at a luncheon at St. John Church following the burial.


Margaret Mae Klick was born February 9, 1918, in Max, ND, to Peter and Mary (Michalenko) Lakoduk. She graduated from Max High School in 1935. She graduated from Minot State Teachers College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Dickinson State University. She taught for one year at a rural school near Max and came to Hebron to teach in 1937. She taught 5th grade and basic skills in Hebron for twenty eight years. On June 11, 1940, she married Harry Klick. They resided in Hebron until 1991 when they moved to Bismarck. Harry died in 2004. In 2005, Margaret moved to Marian Manor in Glen Ullin, where she resided until her death. Margaret was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and served as choir director and organist for thirty three years. Music was an integral part of her life. She and Harry were active in music in their church and in the Hebron community. She organized and played for many elementary school music programs. She helped write and produce the programs for Hebron’s 75th and 100th celebrations. In Bismarck, she accompanied the English Singers and the Burleigh County Singers. She also continued to play the piano while at Marian Manor. Other community and professional involvement included Royal Neighbors, St. John Women’s Guild, Hebron Homemaker’s Club, North Dakota Education Association, National Education Association and the North Dakota Retired Teacher Association.


Survivors include daughter, Nancy Sand, Burnsville, MN; grandsons, Rob and Jody Gratz, Austin, TX, Glen and Anne Mandigo, Bethesda, MD, and Scott and Vickie Gratz, Clarkston, WA; great-grandsons, Mathew Gratz, Cason and Tucker Mandigo, and Tanner and Trevor Gratz; great-great-grandson, Gavin Gratz-McGill; son-in-law, Don Gratz, Thompson Falls, MT; and nieces and nephews.


Preceding Margaret in death were husband Harry, daughter Judy Gratz, parents Mary and Peter Lakoduk, sister Evelyn Fenneman, and great-granddaughter Kirsten Gratz.
