A Funeral Liturgy of the Word Service for Margaret “Marge” Kovacs, 89, of Dickinson, will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Stevenson Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum at a later date.
Visitation for Marge will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Marge passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at her home in Dickinson after a brief illness.
Margaret Mulichak was born April 6, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of John and Nancy (Bunganich) Mulichak.
She grew up and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947. On May 7, 1949, Marge was united in marriage to Robert Kovacs in Youngstown, Ohio. To this union two children were born Paulette and Gregg. Marge worked for the Peg Kish Dress Shop for 32 years before retiring in 1997. She was a longstanding member of St. Mary’s Church, and St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society. She was very active in the church’s mixed bowling league and women’s golf league, and helped with St. Mary’s catering. After moving to Dickinson, North Dakota in 2005 Marge became a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She enjoyed multiple hobbies; reading, occasional casino trips, bingo and baking for family and friends.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Paulette Kovacs of Clinton, MA; a son Gregg (Simin) Kovacs of Dickinson, ND; brothers, Steve (Janice) Mulichak, West Lake, OH, George Mulichak, Austintown, OH, and Andrew Mulichak, Youngstown, OH; sister, Ann Halaparda, Youngstown, OH; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Mulichak; a niece and great-nephew; three sister-in-laws; and one brother-in-law.
