Margaret Kovarik, age 91, a lifelong resident of Hebron, died Saturday, May 06, 2006 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 10:30 AM Central Time at the St. John Church in Hebron with the Rev. Martin Nussbaum officiating. Visitation will be at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron on Tuesday from 4-8 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday for one hour prior to services at the church. Margaret was born August 15, 1914 in Hebron the daughter of Fred and Pauline (Jaeger) Birkmaier. She was raised and educated at Hebron and graduated from High School in 1932. She worked as a seamstress at Master Cleaners in Bismarck. She later worked at Toman cleaners in Mandan where she learned the art of tailoring men?s suits. She married Tony Kovarik November 22, 1936 at Mandan. Following marriage they resided in Hebron. Margaret was a clerk at the Hebron Post office for 30 years. After they retired they enjoyed traveling in the motor home making four trips to Alaska, several trips throughout the lower 48, and spent many days at Lake Tschida. Along with traveling her hobbies include sewing, counted cross stitch, knitting, quilting, fishing, and camping. Margaret was a member of the St. John Women?s Guild, the Brick City Senior Citizens, Good Sam Camping Club, and the Elks. Margaret is survived by her brother: Arnold Birkmaier, Marshville, North Carolina; and her sister Arlen Joan Heupel, Roseville, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves some dear friends: The children of the John and Mary Ann Wanner family, and Kevin Staiger to name a few. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Tony, two brothers: Eugene and Fredrick and two sisters: Christine Renschler and Wilma Chalmers. Officiating Rev.
