Funeral Services for Margaret Tooke, 91 of Ekalaka will 11:00 a. m. Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Ekalaka Bible Church with Pastor Wallace Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka. Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2006 from 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker and one hour prior to service at the church in Ekalaka. Margaret passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the Glendive Medical Center. She was born October 28, 1914, the daughter of Paul and Nellie (Munro) McLean at Ekalaka, MT which was at that time part of Fallon County. She was raised on the McLean family ranch twelve miles northwest of Ekalaka. When the family was ready to attend school, Mrs. McLean moved to town with the children. Margaret attended grade school and high school in Ekalaka. Upon graduation, she went to Great Falls, MT to attend the college of business. After completing her business degree, she worked in Great Falls and later moved back to Ekalaka to work for the state offices and also did a stint working as a clerk at the post office. On November 4, 1940 she was married to Fay Tooke in Billings, MT. From that marriage came two sons, Garth and Greg. Ranch life would describe her activities. Margaret spent a large portion of her life in the ranch kitchen keeping everyone full as ticks. She enjoyed planting flowers, especially marigolds. In 1989, Margaret moved into town where she had resided since. In 1990 she went to work for her son at the vet clinic which she enjoyed very much. All through the years she was very active in the Eastern Star along with Rhodora Garden Club. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Ekalaka. Margaret like playing cards and visiting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons: Garth (Myrna) Tooke and Greg (Susan) Tooke DVM all of Ekalaka; a sister, Barbara Grill of Casper, WY; four grandchildren: J. O. (Kim) Tooke, Ryan (Johanna) Tooke, McLean ?Mac? (Michelle) Tooke and Kelsy Tooke and nine great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Kenzie, Iesha, Tori, Turner, Tucker, Gracie, Royce and Katie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fay, two brothers: Donald (Betty) McLean and Marshal McLean; a sister, Pauline ?Sid? (Ed) Clarkin and and brother-in-law, Carl Grill.
