Marge Engh, 80, Dickinson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at The Springs at Carlotta in Palm Desert, California on Saturday December 10, 2005. Cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration of her life will take place at 5 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Dickinson Elk’s Lodge. Inurnment will be in Dickinson Cemetery, Dickinson. Marge was born March 17, 1925, one of four children born to Thomas and Etta (Gass) McCombs. She was raised and educated in Coraopolis, PA. She married Wallace “Wally” Engh on June 7, 1946. Marge’s great love for many years was playing golf with all of her wonderful friends at the Dickinson Golf Course. Marge was active with her husband in the family businesses, a local John Deere dealership and a mobile feed business. They owned Engh’s Insurance Agency until her retirement. She was an avid knitter and seamstress for her family and once owned a small knitting shop. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dickinson and enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. Marge moved to Palm Desert, California and was an active member at Palm Desert Country Club and Heritage Palms. She very much enjoyed her final years while traveling and seeing the world. Having been born on St. Patrick’s Day, she especially enjoyed her final trip to Ireland. Marge is survived by her children: Rob and wife Luanne, MT, Cathy and husband Gary Gossoo, CA, David “Mac” and wife Carole, WA and Jim and wife Monie, CO; her six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Emma Jean Carney, PA, and Elva Johansen, FL. She was preceded in death by: her mother and father; husband Wally (1986); brother Cliff McCombs (2002) and dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to breast cancer research.
