Memorial Service for Margery ?Margie? Heafner, 64 of San Marcos, CA, formerly of Dickinson will be held 10:00 a. m. Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson with Deacon Gene Morman celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Rosary will be said prior to the memorial service. Margie passed away Sunday, November 21, 2004 at San Marcos, CA. Margie was born June 16, 1940 on the family farm in Stark County, the daughter of Frank and Tillie (Roeder) Fischer. She grew up and attended country schools, St. Pius School at Schefield and St. Mary?s High School in New England. She moved to Minot in 1960 and met Charlie Heafner. They were married in 1964. To this union, two children, Dwyane & Annette were born. Margie & Charlie lived in Minot, Japan and many other different places in the United States before settling in Miles City, MT. Margie worked as a cook at Sacred Heart School for a number of years and then at Miles Community College for a short period of time in 1984. She began working at the Boulder River Guest Ranch at McLeod, MT south of Big Timber, MT. She spent the next 19 years of her life, doing what she loved?being the head cook at the ranch and making many friends from all over the United States who were guests there. Margie was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing, and watching other sports, especially baseball. Margie?s family was very special to her. She treasured times spent with her children, grandchildren and attending all the family gatherings in Dickinson. Survivors include her mother, Tillie Fischer, Dickinson, ND; son, Dwyane Heafner, Rapid City, SD; daughter, Annette (Chuck) Badger, San Marcos, CA; four grandchildren, Chuck, Victoria, and Grace Badger, Alexandria Heafner; three brothers: Stanley (Mary Ann) Fischer, Laurel, MT; Jim (Georgian) Fischer, Billings, MT; Bill (Marcia) Fischer, Forsyth, MT; eight sisters: Irene (Bill) Bosch, Dickinson, ND; Jeanette (George) Jablonsky, West Sacramento, CA; Dolores (Dahn) Beaudoin, Minnetonka, MN; Marie Gregory, Thornton, CO; Kathleen (Bob) Deckert, Minot, ND; Florence (Ron) Fisher, Tucson, AZ; Bernie Fischer, Highlands Ranch, CO; and Betty Heck, Dickinson, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank, two nephews, Raymond and David Bosch, and two brothers-in-law: Bill Gregory and Lavern Heck.
