Funeral services for Margery Underdahl, 95, of Hebron, are 10:30 a.m. CDT, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the St. John Church in Hebron, ND.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home, Hebron and will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral at St. John Church. A Prayer Service will be held 7:00 p.m., CDT, Tuesday at the Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Hebron.
Margery passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin, ND.
Margery Kathryn Krueger was born on May 1, 1917 the daughter of Karl and Mary (Tollefson) Krueger in rural Stark County. She grew up and attended country school in Stark County and graduated from the Hebron High School in 1936. Following graduation, Margery attended the Bismarck Evangelical Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1941. She worked for a short time at the Bismarck Hospital. Margery was married to Alfred Underdahl on November 20, 1941 in Hebron. To this union two sons were born, Aaron and Lynn. Together they raised their two sons along with operating the Brick City Dairy and farming. They milked 45 cows twice a day for many years, selling the milk to the Hebron Creamery where it was bottled. Margery and Alfred actively farmed up until 2010 when they retired and moved to the Marion Manor in Glen Ullin. Margery was an active member of the St. John Church of Hebron as well as the Womens Guild for over fifty years. She also served on the Church Council. Margery was a 50 year member of the Homemakers Club and the Eastern Star. She held numerous offices in the Eastern Star and traveled to many conventions. Some of her enjoyments were playing cards, especially Bridge, refinishing old furniture, doing needlework, rosemaling, quilting, cross stitching and gardening. She was a gracious host, setting a beautiful table and cooking fabulous meals. While on the farm, Margery could be seen traveling around on her red 4-wheeler well into her 90’s or mowing grass with the tractor.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred, Glen Ullin, ND; two sons, Aaron (Ardis) Underdahl, Dickinson, ND and Lynn (Karen) Underdahl, Hebron, ND; four grandchildren, Brian (Brenda) Underdahl, Thane (Helen) Underdahl, Jesse (Kathy) Underdahl and Tanya Jo (Tucker) Smith; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Underdahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ervin and two sisters, Gladys Aller and Selma Gaub.
