Marguerite Anne Askin was born July 29, 1939 to Henry L. and Marguerite (Husted) Askin in Ekalaka, Montana. She died in a tragic accident on September 29, 2008 in Ekalaka. She spent her entire life living in Ekalaka. Marguerite was very active in the Ekalaka Bible Church. She did lots of volunteer work for both the church and the Ekalaka Senior Citizen?s Center. Marguerite enjoyed being the first one at the Center in the mornings to open and make the coffee before others arrived. She also volunteered to clean the Center. Marguerite ran many errands for others in the community and liked to check on and visit with those who could not get out. She was a longtime member of Royal Neighbors of America and the American Legion Auxiliary. Marguerite took piano lessons late in life and loved to try her talent by performing in church, for family members and at other special occasions. Marguerite also loved singing in the community choir, but her greatest love was for God and her family. Being the loving and thoughtful person that she was, Aunt Marguerite never missed a birthday or anniversary without sending a card. She thought of others often and we will all miss her greatly. Survivors include, five brothers, Tuffy (Rosalie) Askin, St. George, UT, Stub (Gladys) Askin, Ekalaka, Chub (Marlie) Askin, Livingston, Ping (Gloria) Askin, Baker and Chunky (Sandy) Askin, Starks, LA; a sister, Cheryl (Joe) Whitney, Fallon; 27 nephews and nieces and their families. Two very good friends, Annabelle and Alice who looked after her, and her very good friend Anna Bush of Miles City also survive her. Her parents, her sisters, Bonnie Rivera and Neva Dietz; a brother, Hank; a nephew Jayson Whitney, and her good friend Illa Mader preceded her in death. Memorials may be given to the Ekalaka Bible Church or the Dahl Memorial Nursing Home in memory of Marguerite.
