A Memorial Service for Marie L. Kaiser, 93, of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Dickinson, ND will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Pastor Janel Kolar officiating. Burial will follow at Dickinson Cemetery.
Marie passed away February 4, 2018, at her Summerfield Place Apartment in Park Rapids, MN.
Marie L. Kaiser was born to Elisha and Helen (Morrison) Child in Dickinson. She graduated Regent High School and Minot State College. Her first teaching position was in Beulah, ND.
On June 1, 1944, she married Robert Kaiser. They farmed near New England, ND. After they moved to Dickinson, she taught at the Anchorage School for the developmentally delayed. She also trained and became a certified nurse’s assistant. Volunteering and caring for the elderly was a vital part of her life. Her true gift was making friends. She loved to entertain and help others have fun, no matter where she lived. She was an avid gardener, card and domino player and accomplished piano player.
Marie is survived by her children; Juanita Disney, Park Rapids, MN; Margaret (Dave) Swartz, Oak Brook Terrace, IL; Roberta (Bruce) Bishop, Bismarck, ND; Carol (Pete) Hazlet, Aurora, CO; Keith (Robin) Kaiser, Red Wing, MN; Kenneth (Athena) Kaiser, Bethesda, MD; grandchildren, Scott (Patti) Disney, Kyle (Kathy) Disney, Allison (Ryan) Quick, Nathaniel (Tonya) Bishop, Meryt (Kyle) Schumacher, Christopher (Lauren) Hazlet, Ty (Elisha) Kaiser, Chad (Christine) Kaiser, Blake (Farley) Kaiser, Adam Kaiser, Ethan Kaiser, James Kaiser, Amalia Kaiser and Nicholas Kaiser; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lilah Child; several nieces and nephews; and children of many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; step-mother, Ethel (Brown) Child; son-in-law, Delfield Disney; great-grandson, Skeeter Disney; brothers, Allan and Richard Child; sisters, Olive (Albert) Lutz, Vivienne (Wiley) Johnson; in- laws; Fred & Amelia Kaiser; sister-in-law, Mary E. Kaiser; and special friend, Norman Knudsvig.
