Funeral Mass for Marie Wieglenda, 90 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Monday, March 7, 2005 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Austin Vetter, Celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Marie passed away Monday, February 28, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Marie was born July 13, 1914 in Hettinger County, North Dakota, the daughter of Stephen and Sophie (Wegh) Herold. She grew up and attended country school in Lefor and later St. Joseph?s School in Dickinson. On October 13, 1938, Marie was married to Ernest Wieglenda at Lefor. They lived in the Lefor area where Ernest operated the Wieglenda Garage. In 1942 they moved to the Wieglenda farm east of Lefor where they farmed until they retired in 1969 and moved to Dickinson. Ernest passed away in 1974. Marie continued to maintain her home in Dickinson until she entered Evergreen due to failing health. For the past few years, Marie made her home at St. Benedict?s Health Center. She loved playing cards (especially bridge) gardening and taking care of her flowers. She traveled extensively throughout the country and always enjoyed her daily walks. Survivors include nieces and nephews: Lorraine (Joe) Jordan of Bismarck, Luella (Herman) Haas of Bismarck, Everett (Rosalie) Martin of Moorhead, MN, Steve Herold of Los Angeles, CA, Lucille (Norm) Gartley of Eugene, OR, Ken (Deb) Herold of Rochester, MN, Gene (Mariane) Herold of West Concord, MN and Lee (Barb) Herold of Rochester, MN; and 23 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; six brothers: Anthony, Steven, Nick, Pete, John and Nicholas; and a sister, Sophie Martin.
