A Funeral service for Marilyn Forster, 89, of Richardton/Taylor, will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Taylor Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Bosserman officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Lutheran Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday.


Marilyn passed away, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Benedict’s Health Center.


Marilyn Frances Madson was born September 26, 1928 in Taylor, ND to Frank and Margaret (Hull) Madson. She grew up in Taylor and graduated from Taylor High School. On February 24, 1947, Marilyn and Lee Hutchinson eloped to Wibaux when she was only 18. To this union, they were blessed with four children; Gary, John, Carol, and Kay. They made their home on a farm by Taylor until Lee passed away in 1982. Marilyn married Ervin Forster on November 12, 1986 and they made their home in Richardton. He passed away in 2013. Soon after Ervin’s passing, Marilyn had a stroke and moved to St. Benedict’s Health Center. Marilyn was an active member of the Taylor Lutheran Church.


Marilyn is survived by her children, Gary (Colleen) Hutchinson of Taylor, John (Nola) Hutchinson of Taylor, Carol (Errol) Nitschke of Spokane, WA, and Kay Hutchinson of Bothell, WA; grandchildren, Candace (William) Kessel, Lee (Breanna) Hutchinson, Tara (Seth) Anderson, Clay (Jill) Nitschke, Andrew (Elisha) Nitschke, and Nickolas (Kristen) Nitschke; and great-grandchildren, Abby, Braden, and Mason Kessel, Reagen Hutchinson, Matalynn (Cody) Embs and Mason Nitschke, Nevin and Anaya Nitschke, and Mercy and Exavier Nitschke.


Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Madson; both husbands, Lee Hutchinson and Ervin Forster; two sisters, Susan Wiley and Karen Voigt; brother, Lyle Madson and his wife Pat; grandson, Merlin Hutchinson; and great-granddaughter, Morgan Kessel.


In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to Taylor Lutheran Church, St. Benedict’s Health Center, or a charity of your choice.
