Marion Hovden, 94, Dickinson, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at the Evergreen, Dickinson. Funeral services are 1 p. m. , Friday, July 14, 2006 at St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer with the Rev. Aanen Gjovik, officiating. Visitation will be held at Price-Murphy Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 p. m. to 8 p. m. , Friday from 8 a. m. to 10 a. m. and one our prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Werner Cemetery, rural Halliday. Marion Hovden was born February 27, 1912 to Martin and Emma (Holstad) Hovden. He was raised in the Whetstone area and attended the Hovden School to the 8th grade. He married Jessie McMahen on December 7, 1953 in Dickinson. He lived in Dickinson for a short time working construction, before returning to the Whetstone area to ranch. He retired in 1978 and moved to Killdeer. Jessie died on January 15, 1996. In 2002, he moved to Halliday and lived there for three years, before moving to Dickinson and residing at the Evergreen. He enjoyed playing pinochle, and visiting with family and friends. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by: two daughters, Gayle Baldwin, Tempe, AZ, and Judy Boepple (Pat Kuntz), Halliday; six grandchildren, Mike Beard, Cheryl Markovich, Lori Selle, Kevin Singer, Dawn Marquardt, and Todd Boepple; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Monroe, Killdeer; two brothers, Elsworth (Philomena) Hovden, Killdeer, and Morris Hovden, Killdeer. He was preceded in death by: his wife, and two brothers and two sisters.
