Memorial Service Marjorie E. Curry, 93, of Spearfish, SD formerly of Ekalaka , MT will be 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010, in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka with Pastors Bruce & Reba Kolasch officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Beaver Lodge Cemetery at Ekalaka. Marjorie passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at her home at Edgewood Vista in Spearfish, SD. Marjorie was born in Belle Fourche, SD on September 14, 1917, a daughter of Jim & Ethel (Adam) Keith. She grew up on the family ranch in the Chalk Buttes community southeast of Ekalaka where she attended country school and during the winter months she attended school in Whitewood, SD. Marjorie graduated from Spearfish High School and attended Black Hills State in Spearfish, SD and later finishing at MSU in Missoula, MT. Marjorie taught country school in Lincoln County, Powder River County, Carter County and high school in Shelby, MT and Ekalaka, MT. In the fall of 1944, Marjorie moved to Wenatchee, WA where she worked for her cousin, Byrne Thrailkill. On January 3, 1945, Marjorie married Ralph L. Curry in Baker, MT. Marjorie and Ralph made their home on the former George and Bea Sykes ranch in the Belltower community where they raised their family. Marjorie lived on the ranch until she moved into Ekalaka in the spring of 2004. In June of 2009, she moved to Spearfish. Marjorie enjoyed playing cards, working on Jig Saw puzzles, gardening and growing flowers. She was a huge Carter County Bulldog fan and liked to watch golf and baseball on TV. She served on the Carter County Election Board for several years and was a member of the Eastern Star, Belltower Community Club, 4-H, Cowbelles and the Ekalaka Senior Citizens. A memorable time in Marjorie?s life was joining St. Elizabeth?s Lutheran Church in Ekalaka, but the greatest memories were for her family. Marjorie considered everyone she knew her friend. Survivors include her three children, twin daughter?s, Margie (Art) Jacobsen, Miles City, MT, Marla (Ron) Meyers, Great Falls, MT and her son, Kim (Sherrie) Curry, Sturgis, SD; her brother, Kent ?Cap? Keith, Ekalaka, MT; her sister, Lois Karn, Spearfish, SD; 8 grandchildren, Alan (Karen) Jacobsen, Brooklyn, NY, Kevin (Robyn) Jacobsen, Bozeman, MT, Colleen Meyers Mannix, Orlando, FL, Brian Meyers, Glendive, MT, Jeff Curry, Denver, CO, Michelle Curry (JD) Williams, Sturgis, SD, Jarred Curry, Laramie, WY and Megan Curry (Bryce) Leonhardt, Cheyenne, WY; 9 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Mannix, Fiona, Jasper, Tobi and Ruby Jacobsen, Jenika Leonhardt, Carter and Blake Williams and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband, Ralph Curry, a daughter, Roberta Sue Curry and sister, Fern Keith preceded her in death.
