Martha ?Marty? Boe, 79, Dickinson, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Funeral services are 11 a. m. , Thursday, April 28, 2005 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Steven Tangen and Rev. Pat Higgins officiating. Burial will be in the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a prayer service at 7:30 p. m. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour prior to services at the church. Martha Lou Krabbenhoft was born April 8, 1926 to Hans and Leafy (Moore) Krabbenhoft. She grew up on a farm near Sabin, MN and attended Barnesville, MN high school. She graduated from high school at Brandon, MS. She attended and graduated from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA. She married Edsel Boe on March 22, 1949 at Baker, MN. She and her husband spent one year in Carson, ND. In 1950, they moved to Langdon, ND, and lived there until 1975 at which time they moved to Dickinson, ND and have resided there since. She was employed as an RN at hospitals in Texarkana, TX, St. John?s Hospital in Fargo, ND, and at Cavalier Memorial Hospital in Langdon, ND. Marty was very involved in her community. Her faith was important and she was an active member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. She sang in the choir and was a member of the St. John?s Quilting Group. She was involved with the Round Table Study Club, the PEO Chapter B, Dorcas Society, the St. Joseph?s Auxiliary and the Scandinavian Ethnic Group. She will be remembered for her humor, many interests, cooking, being a host for many, deep faith, compassion and appreciation for all of God?s children. She valued all of her friends she gathered throughout her life. Pride in her family was utmost in her heart. She will be greatly missed. Marty is survived by: her husband, Ed, Dickinson; her children, Richard Boe, Beulah, ND, Merry (Gene) Manson, Minot, ND, Steve (Debra) Boe, Burnsville, MN, Phil (Laura) Boe, St. Paul, MN, Doug (Michelle) Boe, Platte City, MO; grandchildren, Ross Manson, Bart Manson, Brian Manson, Jen Boe, Katie Boe, Beth Boe, Eric Boe, Emily Boe, Calle Boe, Valerie Aneo and Yuki Rivers; five great-grandchildren, Maggie, Benjamin, Andrew, Avery and Alivia; two sisters, Lucille Peterson, San Pedro, CA, Helen Johnk, Moorhead, MN, one brother, Norman (Ollie) Krabbenhoft, Pelican Rapids, MN, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Hans and Leafy Krabbenhoft; two sisters, Rosemary Krabbenhoft and Marian Peterson, and one brother, George Krabbenhoft. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Trust Fund, 146 6th Ave. W. , Dickinson, ND 58601.
