Martha Jurgens, 81, Belfield, died Saturday, December 2, 2006, at her family?s home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. Thursday, December 7, 2006, at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Rev. Shannon Lucht, celebrating. Interment will be in St. Bernard?s Cemetery, Belfield. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. , Wednesday, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home and continue at 4 p. m. at the church. There will be a vigil service at 7 p. m Wednesday at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Martha Cinder was born June 24, 1925, to Frank and Barbara Cinder. She grew up on the family farm southeast of Belfield. She had three sisters and one brother. She attended country school near their farm and later high school in Belfield. Shortly after high school, she became employed at the 1st National Bank in Belfield, as a teller. She worked numerous positions at the bank, before retiring as vice president in 1988. She married Elmer Jurgens on February 4, 1947, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, South Heart. They lived and worked in Belfield and had their family there. Martha loved to visit with her family and friends, travel, and garden. She especially loved her visits with her children, grand children, and great-grand children. She had a magnetic personality and a permanent smile. Martha was one that could always see the positive in any situation. In her later years, Martha was comforted by ?Tom?, her and Elmer?s cat, who was a special companion. Martha was an active member of the Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers, Belfield Senior Citizens, American Legion Auxiliary and numerous other organizations. She is survived by: four children, Jim (Jean) Jurgens, Marysville, WA, David (Joan) Jurgens, Belfield, Karen (Jeff) Boshart, Charleston, Ill. , and Ken (Peggy) Jurgens, Dickinson; son-in-law, Wilbert ?Binky? (Eunice) Miller, Belfield; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Kostelnak, Dickinson, and Rose O?Brien, Belfield; two sisters-in-law, Leota Jurgens, Taylor, and Adeline Murray, Bismarck. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Elmer on June 8, 2001; one daughter, Janice Miller; parents; brother, Ed Cinder, and sister, Lillian Heath.
