Martha R. Karsky, 74, Dickinson, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a. m. , Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. David Morman celebrating. Entombment will be in Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a rosary and prayer service at 7 p. m. led by Herman Dukart. Martha Rose Kovash was born July 21, 1929 in Dickinson to Peter and Mary (Sadowsky) Kovash. She attended Dickinson Schools until the 8th Grade. She married Ludwig Karsky on June 7, 1948 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. She was employed at Queen City Abstract for 40 years. She also worked at St. Joseph?s Hospital, Interstate Inn, Elks Lodge and was a babysitter for her grandchildren and great grandchildren for many years. In her early years after her marriage, she farmed with her husband southeast of Manning. They moved to Dickinson in 1960. She was a member of the Rosary Society, Queen of Peace Circle, and the ND Land Title Association. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, canning, cooking, embroidery work, sewing, knitting, and loved to have company and visit. Martha Karsky is survived by: her husband, Ludwig; three daughters, Joan (Glen) Sickler, Gladstone, ND, Karen (Burt) Melchior, Dickinson, ND, Sherri (Robert) Sykora, Dickinson, ND; seven grandchildren, Stacy Steffan, Lynn Betlaf, Melissa Krehlik, Nicole Anderson, Jason Melchior, Greg Melchior and Corey Melchior; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Herman) Dukart, Manning, ND; five brothers, Ray (Blanche) Kovash, Henry (Lillian) Kovash, Wilfred (Georgia) Kovash, Albert (Evelyn) Kovash, and Ronald (Donna) Kovash, all of Dickinson. She was preceded in death by: her parents and an infant sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Joseph?s Hospital Cancer Center, 30 W. 7th St. , Dickinson, ND 58601.
