Martha Rediske, 87, formerly of Baker, MT, where she and her husband Sheldon were business people from 1941 to 1979, passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at the Big Sky Nursing Home in Helena, MT. Martha was born July 5, 1915, to Henry Huether and Katherine Oberlander of Plevna, MT. She graduated from Plevna High School and Presentation School of Nursing in Miles City, MT with an RN degree in 1937. On October 18, 1939, Martha married Sheldon Rediske at her parents? farm by Baker, MT. Prior to their marriage Martha had been nursing at the State Hospital in Yakima, WA. In 1941 Martha and Sheldon moved back to Baker and opened Rediske Radio Electric and Refrigeration. Martha worked with Sheldon to build their business and also continued to nurse. She was active in Baker Community Church and their Ladies Aid, Order of the Eastern Star and was the Mother Advisor for Rainbow Girls for many years, as well as an active member of bridge and homemakers clubs. Martha was involved in many civic and charitable activities through out her life. She lived to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors and to be active in all her many organizations. In her later years she served as a Pinkie for the hospital and also helped with the coffee cart at the Baker Hospital. Martha is survived by her three children, Kay Linda Walker of Kalispell, MT, Sheldon Lee of Denver, CO, and Thomas George of Helena, MT. Her seven grandchildren are all grown and all will remember her fondly. She also is survived by four great grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Sheldon, who passed away in 1993, her parents, her great grandchild, Alexander Kendrix, her two sisters, Tillie Evans and Bertha Koenig and two brothers, Albert and Russell Huether. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Baker Community Church.
