Funeral Mass for Martha M. Ridl, 80, of Dickinson will be 11:00 a. m. , Thursday, February 18, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation for Martha will be from 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Martha passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson. Martha M. Tuhy was born on March 28, 1935 in a midwife house in Dickinson, the daughter of Louie and Mary (Pavlicek) Tuhy. She attended country school near the family farm through the eighth grade and helped to care for relative’s children. On October 19, 1954, Martha was united in marriage to Otto J. Ridl at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. To this union one daughter LaVonne and three sons, Gary, Curtis and Kevin were born. Together, the family made their home on a farm 13 miles north of Dickinson. Martha was a dedicated farmwife. After Otto passed away in 1990, Martha continued to live on the farm until 2003 when she retired and moved to Dickinson. Martha enjoyed gardening, working on embroidery, baking, listening to Old Time music, playing cards, and completing word search puzzles. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and St. Anthony Club. Martha is survived by her daughter, LaVonne (Jerry Galster) Kinney of Dickinson; three sons, Gary (Kathy Wahlen) Ridl of Minot, ND, Curtis (Sharon Anton) Ridl of Dickinson, Kevin (Connie Monson) Ridl of Dickinson; nine grandchildren, MacKenzie Reindel, Shawn Kinney, Jessica Ridl, Bradley Ridl, Jordan Ridl, Michael Ridl, Dustin Kinney, Matthew Ridl, Cristina Ridl, ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Ann (Clem) Heidt of Dickinson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Mary Tuhy; husband, Otto J. Ridl; one grandson, Dallas Kinney; and daughter-in-law, Tammy Ridl.
