Martin Gunderson

Funeral Services for Martin Gunderson, 87, of Baker, MT will be at 2:00 p. m. on Friday, June 11, 2010, in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with Pastors Bruce & Reba Kolasch officiating. Interment will follow in the Gunderson lot in the Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 2:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. on Thursday, June 10th, with the family greeting friends from 7:00 to 8:00 and will continue on Friday, from 9:00 until the time of service. Martin passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT. Martin Joseph Gunderson, son, brother, dad, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away peacefully on June 6, 2010, after a short battle with old age. Martin was born June 10, 1922, on the family farm south of Baker, Montana, and where he resided his entire life. His parents, John and Johanna Gunderson, his older brothers Selmer (Sam), George and his sisters, Jennie, Ida Wild and Esther Jones, look forward to their mischievous younger brother joining them. Martin attended Baker schools, married, and farmed and ranched on the family homestead south of Baker for many years. In 1949 he married Leona Roth and to this union two sons and four daughters were born. He later married Linda Mikkelson and two more sons were added to the family. He married Lois Patterson in 1977 and Marie Steffes in 1982. In 1985 he married Lucille Stevens whose family was from Roundup, Montana. They met at a singles? dance in Miles City and have danced together ever since. Martin is survived by his wife Lucille of Baker; Gregory Gunderson (Judy) and children Tony (Michelle) children Anthony and Allan, Todd, Trina (Aaron Bruce) and children Shelby, Bryce, and Pepper; Velora Strom (Frank), Thomas Gunderson (Cindy) and children Christopher (children Sydney, Izaak, and Lane) and Elizabeth (Michael Stuckmeyer) and children McKenzie and Addasyn; Marcella Enos (Rod) and children Andrea, Mark (Wendy), Amanda (Seth Wilson); Barbara Dykema (Ranger) and children Kurtis (Bridget) children Olivia(deceased), Christopher, Nicholas, and Benjamin, Brady, Thomas (Marki) daughter Hadley, and David; Idi Chamberlin and children Aaron, Brandon and Kyle; Brian Gunderson; Mike Gunderson (Dorinda), and children Olivia and Grace. Martin?s children meant the world to him and he loved big gatherings when everyone could be present. We will all cherish the memories of life on the farm, fishing, riding horses, and quiet conversations. Dad, a good-hearted man, will live on in our hearts forever. Services for Martin Gunderson will be held on June 11, 2010 at 2:00. Please join us as we celebrate Dad?s life.
