Funeral service for Marvin F Twogood, 81, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven Tangen Officiating. Burial will be 10 a. m. MST, Thursday, September 11, 2008 at North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation for Marvin will be from 10:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. Marvin passed way Friday, September 5, 2008 at St. Joseph?s Hospital Health Center in Dickinson. Marvin F. Twogood was born June 27, 1927 at Werner, ND to Albert E. and Alma (Rohde) Twogood. He grew up and attended the Eagle Nest #3 country school in the Werner area. After schooling, he worked on the farm until he was drafted into the Army in October of 1950. He was stationed in Japan and Korea for 18 months where he began as a marksman and later worked as a mechanic. Marvin was honorably discharged in September of 1952. He then returned to the Dickinson area and went to work at the Dickinson Experiment Station. In 1953 Marvin moved to Seattle, WA where he worked for Boeing aircraft. On February 5, 1954 he married the love of his life, Ethel Sams in Seattle. Shortly after marriage the couple moved back to Dickinson where Marvin began work at Vantine Paint and Glass until 1975. In 1976 he began operating Century Glass and did so until his retirement. Marvin?s second love, next to his family, was his music. Marvin volunteered his time at all the local nursing homes for many years,playing his accordian, where he entertained with his wonderful music. He played with various dance bands throughout the area, playing guitar and singing. Marvin also played in the Tony Weber Orchestra for twenty years. He is survived by his wife Ethel Twogood, Dickinson; three sons, Wayne (Bonnie) Twogood, Darren (Clarice) Twogood and Mark (Shanda) Twogood, all of Dickinson; two daughters, Rhonda (Darrell) Chruszch, Dickinson and Sandra (Dave) Williamson, Dolph, AR; a brother, Louie (Jean) Twogood, Dickinson; two sisters, Ethel (Laudie) Hibl and Ellie (Dave) Olheiser, both of Dickinson; a sister-in-law, Louise Twogood, Dickinson; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Melvin Twogood and an infant granddaughter, Heather Jo Chruszch.
