Marvin Wetzel, Jr. was born August 15, 1970 in Richardton, ND, the son of Marvin Wetzel Sr. and Ardella (Dschaak) Wetzel. He grew up in Glen Ullin and graduated from Glen Ullin High School. In his younger years, Junior worked with his dad on the Ed Richter farm. Junior truly loved the farm life. He would later work at the farm on his own. Junior eventually bought Rocky’s Bar in Glen Ullin. He loved owning the bar and became friends with all his employees; especially Joyce Miller. He was truly an old soul at heart and very generous to his family. He loved listening to gospel music, especially the Forester Sisters and Hank Snow. Junior spent every Sunday morning listening to gospel music before he would spend the day at the bar. Two favorite songs were the Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace. He also spent time listening to Clarissa Lynn’s Gospel Hour on KBMR. Junior spent many hours constructing model cars and trucks and collecting anything John Deere; as he had many collectable tractors, balers and various other pieces of equipment. His cat, Noodles was a big part of his life and was often heard talking about her. Junior was a big part of the community and he will be greatly missed by all his family and numerous friends.
