Mary Baggenstoss

Mary Jane was born March 29, 1917 in Dickinson, North Dakota and passed away May 29, 2011 in Palm Desert, California. She was 94.


Mary Jane attended college in Dickinson, North Dakota and Minnesota/Swedish Hospital X-ray Technician Program in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mary Jane was an X-ray Technician and had been retired for many years. Mary Jane was involved in the Minnesota Women’s Golf Association where she was a Past President, Minneapolis Golf Club – Past President, Eitel Hospital Auxiliary Past-President (until it disbanded), The Rainbow Girls in Dickinson, Eastern Star (over 50 years), and was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopalian Church for over 50 years. Mary Jane loved animals and supported many animal organizations for years. Her last animal friend was cat Eloise.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Susannah Jane (Bird) and Alexander Augustus Dinsdale; her husband, Dr. Osmond (Ozzie) J. Baggenstoss, sister. Florence Mae Dinsdale McEwen and brother, John A. Dinsdale.


She is survived by nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law.


Special thanks to Mary Jane’s caregivers over the past 6 years; Michelle, Susie, Millicent and Jane from Minnesota, and to Pam and Denise from California. Most especially to Pam for being with Mary Jane at the end of her life.


Visitation 1-3:00 p.m., Sunday June 5th at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th St. and Vernon Ave at Hwy 100, Edina. Graveside Service 11:00 a.m.,Wednesday June 8th at Dickinson Cemetery, Dickinson, ND.


She lived, she laughed and she loved!
