Mary Chorne, 77, Dickinson, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2005 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Austin Vetter celebrating. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a rosary being said at 7 p.m. Mary Buresh was born December 6, 1927 the daughter of Joseph & Mary (Steffan) Buresh on the family farm in Dunn County. She attended school in New Hradec. On August 31, 1943 she married Robert J. Chorne in New Hradec. Robert & Mary farmed north of South Heart until Robert’s retirement in 1973, at which time they moved to Dickinson, where they lived until her death. Mary was a certified nurses aide for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Her children and family still receive comments from people who were in her care while a patient at the hospital about what a kind, loving, and caring person she was while they were in her care at the hospital. Mary was a member of the St. Peter & Paul Rosary Society of New Hradec, a member of the Catholic Workmen’s, and was at one time part of the Dakota Czech singing group. Mary was an avid reader. She especially loved reading anything concerning history, geography, and especially politics. Her other interests included embroidery, gardening, cooking, and entertaining. Her children often commented how Robert & Mary’s home was “grand central station” because of their warmth and hospitality. You were always welcome and felt welcomed in their home, and left “well fed” because Mary was an exceptional cook and baker. Mary was a very loving wife, Mother, sister, & grandmother, and a very loyal friend. She is survived by her children, Donovan, Dickinson, JoAnne (Ron Wehner), Bakersfield, CA, Roberta Wolf, Dickinson, Sherri (A. James) Privratsky, Dickinson, and Robert D. “Bo” (Katie Severson), Dickinson; two brothers, Ludwig (Cecelia) Buresh, Dickinson, and Ray (Marlene) Chorne of South Heart; two sisters, Edith Jedlicka, Appleton, WI, and Jan (Henry) Frank, Dickinson; two step-brothers, Laudie (Verna) Chorne, Bismarck, and Vincent Chorne, New Providence, IA; one step-sister, Louise Gilbert, Seaside, OR; one brother-in-law Richard Brown, Sagle, ID; five grandchildren, Justin, Denise, Brian and Sara Chorne, and Jeff Privratsky; 3 great-grandchildren, Ian & Luke Chorne and Ethan Churchill, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on May 27, 2005; her son John at the age of 2 1/2; her parents; two sisters, Tillie Havelka and infant sister Martha; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Brown, and three brothers-in-law, Ed Jedlicka, Bob Gilbert, and Joe Havelka. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends!
